To make the entire farm program more financially and organizationally manageable for the Intervale Foundation by defining when a farmer needs to leave the program so that they can be rotated at the rate of three per year, while retaining a small number of “mentor” farmers; to help farmers create business plans and build equity; and to strengthen the incubator program for new farmers.
